RBMA Block 1: Systems Thinking and System Analysis

1.6 – Hydrological Analysis III

Study of the development of the Porong estuary showed a significant coastal abrasion since 1975. Welang is currently about 2km longer than in 1975.

Some recent findings in Welang River Basin: land cover has changed significantly recently, forest cover has reduced, urban/paved cover has increased significantly but some sub-catchments have not seen such dramatic changes.

Causes, Drivers and Effects are identified throughout the study such as poverty distribution, potential health impacts, disposal of waste, and instiutional context and stakeholders.
