Salinity Issue & Adaptation Aproach in the Mekong Delta
On 12.10.2024, the workshop “The Wonders of Salinity – The Story of Salt” kicked off the knowledge sharing series under the Mekong Salt Lab Youth Challenge 2024. The event attracted young talented people eager to learn about the severe impacts of climate change and salinity intrusion.
Dr. Nguyen Hong Ung, a leading expert in plant protection and a lecturer at the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture, Tra Vinh University, facilitated the session. She provided crucial scientific insights into the issue of salinity intrusion, including its causes, impacts on soil and water resources, and related environmental risks.
The workshop activities included group discussions, encouraging participants to propose adaptation ideas to address salinity intrusion and develop sustainable solutions for the future.
Green Skills for Gen Z
Continuing the spirit of innovation, the workshop “ Green Skills for Gen Z & Sustainable Pitching” provided practical knowledge and skills for participating teams. The session was led by Ms. Kelly Vo, Founder and CEO of Dear Our Community, who has over 13 years of experience in both corporate and non-profit sectors.
During the workshop, Ms. Kelly:
- Guided participants on how to conceptualize and communicate green ideas in sustainable development projects.
- Helped young participants hone persuasive presentation skills to inspire partners and attract investors.
- Shared creative solutions for minimizing negative environmental and resource impacts.
