BACKGROUND
Shrimp farming is one of Vietnam’s most valuable aquaculture sectors, yet it faces multiple longstanding challenges: unstable water conditions, high feed costs, disease outbreaks, labor-intensive operations, and limited access to modern monitoring tools. Traditional practices often lack continuous supervision, resulting in preventable losses and reduced profitability.
Recognizing these challenges, students from Văn Hiến University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, with technical guidance from AHTP HCMC, collaborated to develop ShrimpTech—a smart, accessible, and highly automated IoT system tailored to local farming conditions.
ShrimpTech aims to bridge the technology gap in small and medium-scale shrimp farms, empowering farmers with real-time monitoring, automation, and AI-based decision support.
