On Thursday, 16 January 2025, our consortium had the honour of participating in the Partners for Water Subsidy Kick-Off event, hosted at the Social Impact Factory in Utrecht. This gathering brought together all the innovative projects that have received funding through the Partners for Water subsidy scheme, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, connection, and collaboration.

Representing our consortium was Gregor van Essen, Managing Director of The Water Agency, who delivered a compelling 3–4 minute elevator pitch highlighting the Pekalongan Green Batik Pilot Project. The pitch focused on the project background—why we are doing this, and our approach in making the batik industry more sustainable through scalable water cycle model that are more practical and effective—a core innovation that earned the project its selection.
The event showcased the diverse range of Dutch-supported water projects globally, from delta management to water innovation in agriculture and sanitation. Our team was inspired by the shared commitment to water resilience and sustainability and looks forward to collaborating and learning with other consortia throughout the project implementation phase.
We are proud to be part of this strong network and excited to take the next steps in transforming batik industry into a greener and more water and environment-friendly model for the future.
