After thorough preparations, the Mekong Salt Lab Youth Challenge 2024 officially began with an engaging online kick-off event on September 28th, marking the start of the search for innovative and sustainable solutions for the Mekong Delta.
The online kick-off event saw enthusiastic participation from the top 5 excellent teams, along with the presence of distinguished guests, including representatives from Tra Vinh University, program mentors: Mr. Nguyen Cong Thuc, Dr. Ly Trung Nguyen, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Lam, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thuy, and others. This event also provided an excellent opportunity for the teams to meet one another after the preliminary selection and to hear insightful remarks from representatives of The Water Agency, Tra Vinh University, and the mentors who will support the teams throughout the competition.
Mr. Gregor van Essen – Managing Director from The Water Agency, expressed his confidence and expectations, emphasizing that this challenge represents an opportunity for young people to fully utilize their potential and develop innovative solutions to support the Mekong Delta.
Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Bich (Bica Tran) – Deputy Director of the Institute of Environmental Science and Technologyfrom Tra Vinh University also extended a warm welcome to the participants and offered words of encouragement, urging all to continue this meaningful journey toward a brighter future for the region.
The experienced mentors shared their excitement about collaborating with young talents, guiding the teams as they transform ideas into practical solutions for positive change in the Mekong Delta.
